This week it’s the turn of Maura Mc Namara as our wedding expert. She’s given us an insight into a great wedding service that I’m sure you’ll love as much as I do. Her wedding favours are gorgeous. So, enjoy that cup of coffee while you relax and take a break over our new column.
It’s really nice to be able to talk to you Maura,
What Do You Offer In Wedding Favours That’s Different or Unique?
The Irish Love Company provides Vintage Labels to tie around your wine or champagne glass. During the wedding reception, your guests are asked to write a personal message on the back of the Vintage Label wedding favours. The labels are then hung on a “Wishing Tree” which could be anything from an arrangement of flowers, an artistic display of rustic twigs, or whatever you choose.
At the end of the reception the wedding favour tags are placed in a memory box and stored as a family heirloom. It’s a lovely, nostalgic idea. With the “Wishing Tree” concept, I’m able to offer a service that makes the wedding personal, and adds an extra special something that can be passed down to future generations.
So Tell Us About The Irish Love Company, And Where We Can Find You?
The ILC is a fledgling business based in Kildare, Ireland. I’ve always had an interest in creative ideas and my specialism is providing Vintage Tags as wedding favours to hang on a “Wishing Tree” during your wedding reception – something that makes your wedding day more memorable than you thought possible. I worked for Ireland’s largest supplier of art materials for many years and I’m a teacher by profession, but currently devote all my time to crafting. Working from home means that I can offer a wonderfully creative wedding service at an extremely competitive price. I really love what I do and I think that shows in my work.
Why Did You Decide To Design Wedding Favours?
Weddings are such positive occasions and it’s just so lovely to be part of someone’s very special day. I love creating something that people can treasure for the rest of their lives, using my Vintage Tags wedding favours in an imaginative way.
You’re A Relatively New Company. How Do You See Your Wedding Favour Business Expanding?
Until now, all my customers are Irish, and feedback from my brides has been extremely positive. I’ve had brides write to me saying how delighted they were with their personal wedding favours and how it made their day extra special. It’s quite a unique service and an absolute pleasure to do, especially when I get letters of thanks.
So I’m looking forward to new challenges and am now offering my wedding favour service to the UK. Postage and delivery will be discussed with customers at the time of placing an order, so brides from afar can be assured of a safe delivery process. There are two very positive aspects for supplying to the UK – one, my prices are in Euros so the exchange rate is favourable; secondly, the product is not weighty so they are easily posted without incurring high postage charges.
What Advice Can You Give A Bride Who’s Not Sure What She Needs?
Keep it simple. Simplicity is the key – otherwise it all becomes one big unnecessary fuss. Less is definitely more.
Many Of Us Get Married In The 40+ Age Group. Have You Dealt With Brides Of All Ages?
Certainly. I’m over 40 myself, and more than aware of how my tastes have varied through different stages of my life. I’m happy to cater for peoples’ wedding preferences at whatever stage they’re at.
What Happens In An Emergency – Who Will Make My Wedding Favours?
That’s an important question. I have someone to assist me who knows my work if an emergency were to arise, so there’s no problem fulfilling an order. Sending out the Vintage Tags wedding favours well in advance is the key– most orders (depending on the date of the wedding) are placed and delivered up to six months in advance, guaranteeing a stress free experience. It’s wise to use registered post so that any unlikely, but potential non-delivery by the postal services can be dealt with in plenty time.
What Do You Think About The FortyPlusWeddings Blogsite?
I think this blogsite is a wonderful idea, and should prove to be a very useful tool to those getting married later in life. It’s also great to be there at the beginning of something new and it’ll be interesting to see how it grows in the future.
What Are Your Contact Details If Someone Wants To Get In Touch?
You can contact me through my Facebook page where I display lots of different designs and examples of my wedding favours.
Maura – Thanks very much for that insight into the Irish Love Company, and FortyPlusWeddings wishes you well with those UK orders. I only wish I’d known about your Vintage Tags before my own wedding!
