Pick of the Blogs May 2013

This month I’ve found the great links for you if you’re looking for bridesmaid dresses. The official Pantone colour for 2013 is emerald green, and Dessy Group provide lots of choice for different shapes and sizes.

Hope you find what you’re looking for…

1.  Wedding Blog at the Dessy Group

Shoes, tips, honeymoons and dresses. It’s all here, including the low-down on shapewear for your wedding day.

2.  Wedding Ideas Magazine

The best lace wedding gowns for 2013 – admittedly, not all to suit the 40+ bride! But there’s definitely some in here worth looking at.

3.  Wedding Transport Guide

Morris Minor wedding car pick of the blogs May 2013No matter what size your wedding party will be, you’ll still need transport. Here’s a great article that you can scale down to your needs and explains the etiquette involved in who goes in what car. Morris Minor anyone?

4.  Rock My Wedding

Thinking of selling your wedding dress? I posed this question on our Facebook page this week. It’s something I’m considering but not quite sure yet. There are a few places you can sell your dress but I think RMW has a great selection. It’s by no means a 40+ wedding site, but if you’re looking to sell, this could be the place for you.

5.  Style Me Pretty

A great site if you just want to look at some amazing images. Not really focused on the 40+ age group, but still great for ideas. As a David Austin roses fan, I spotted a beautiful bouquet using Juliet roses. Unfortunately I can’t pull the image for you, but do take a look via this link. Absolutely gorgeous.

6.  Channel 4 Best Wedding Blogs

Nicky, one half of the fantastic Chapman sisters, shows us how to do hair and makeup for our wedding day. The girls go by the name of Pixiewoo and if you don’t know them, have a look at their YouTube video channel for some great tutorials from these expert makeup artists. Looks can be adapted to suit the 40+ age group and their beautiful mother sometimes helps out as a model. Just ignore the music! Oh, and we’ve already featured one of Samantha Chapman’s bridal tutorials on this site, so take a look if you haven’t seen it yet. I can personally guarantee the Smashbox soft colours palette shown in the video – it’s beautiful for a bride.
